This running shoe pays homage to several sneakers from the early 2000s, including the ninth iteration of the Gel-1000 series and the GEL-KAYANO 14. For example, the sneaker boasts a breathable mesh construction and a slightly bulky silhouette. However, this iteration of the Gel-1130 features synthetic leather paneling instead of traditional leather overlays. The use of synthetic leather gives the sneaker a modern upgrade and allows the Faded Ash Rock hue to catch the light. The gel technology in the heel represents another upgrade and cushions against impact. In terms of technology, ASICS’ signature support system adds stability without decreasing flexibility.
